The Banasura hill located at an altitude of nearly 3200 feet in the mist kissed hills of Wayanad, is celebrated as an ideal destination for individuals who are seeking an enriching experience and are eager to make their holiday, more than just a holiday! These hills are the second highest peak in the Wayanad region. The peak can be easily accessed from the region of Padinjarethara, which is situated at a distance of nearly 18 kms from Kalpetta.

The region provides the scope for clicking some amazing pictures from its summit. The dawn at this place sends an invitation to the boundless natural beauty of the surroundings to come in its fullest form and captivate the visitors. The presence of the Banasura Sagar dam at the foothills of this peak, which is the country’s largest earth dam allows for some splendid views along the trail to the peak.

Banasura trek is a hard nut to crack due to the steep slopes and one must ensure that all necessary provisions for the trek such as food, water and tent for camping are taken care of .
