HolidayIQ Traveller Saranya Devanathan shares, "We started from Bangalore by 7 am. Through Kanakapura we reached Gaganachukki by 10 am. We had breakfast at Mayura. After little rest had a coracle ride at Barachukki. Through water all over, we reached Talakad for lunch carried from Bangalore home made. Though we had plans of visiting Somanathpur, all of us were tired and reached Bangalore by 8 pm for dinner at one of the fast food joints at Bangalore. The road is nice for many kilometers. After turning left from Mysuru road, it was narrow. Still it was comfortable drive. That was the season for African tulips all over on either side of the road. Seeing water itself makes one very happy. Green paddy and sugarcane fields are there all over with canals flowing every now and then."
HolidayIQ Traveller Soumyajit Kundu from Bangalore shares, "Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh is just 120 KM from Hebbal flyover. Most of the route is a 6 lane Hyderabad highway and hence a driving pleasure. After you turn to Lepakshi Road, its a narrower stretch with no dividers. There is clear signage of where to take turn, you get help from GPS as well. The easiest way is the APTDC which has come up on the highway just before the turn and just 2 km after the second toll tax. On the way there are a number of Dhabas like India Paratha Company before Nandi Hills cross and UP Punjabi Dhaba, just after Nandi Hills Cross. There are a number of Panchavati group hotels as well on both side of the road. There are two tolls on the way, one after the airport lane and other just before the lepakshi road. Both have option for round trip tickets, which is cheaper. There are a number of petrol pumps as well."
HolidayIQ Traveller Rayan from Gurgaon shares, "The road journey was in four parts - (1) leaving Bangalore to get on to the NICE road (2) NICE road and then Bangalore-Mysore Road till Mysore (3) Crossing Mysore by taking the Mysore Ring Road and (4) the Manantavady Road to get to Kabini. All parts had good roads except the last 1.5 km which did not have a great surface. We did the onward trip in 5 hours, leaving Bangalore at 5.30 Am. The return trip from Kabini started at 10.30 Am and took an extra 30 minutes. The road till Mysore has lots of pit-stops mostly with food of the Idli-Dosa variety; however I would recommend stopping at Eat-o if you have kids who want their share of pizzas and sandwiches; an additional bonus is clean toilets. The Mysore Ring Road is a wide boulevard with limited traffic making for easy navigation around the city. The drive gets more interesting as you turn right into the Mananthavady Road most of which goes through relatively pretty rolling countryside."
HolidayIQ Traveller Manivel from Bangalore shares, "It was a lazy Sunday and I decided to drive down to a destination within 2-3 hours for relaxation and to do noting and just to eat fresh river fish and to allow your kids to play in the river and for a coracle ride, then the best place will be Bheemeshwari River."
HolidayIQ Traveller Vinay Gowda from Bangalore shares, "Stretch from Bengaluru to Gundlupet is dry and smooth. However true experience starts once you enter the forest range which shoots off any kind of stress you are in to. Once you cross Karnataka border wheels can feel the being prevailed of well-maintained roads across borders."
HolidayIQ Traveller Suresh Surya from Bangalore shares, "The road to Mekedatu is good and is about two hour's journey. The place is neat and clean. The restaurant over there was awesome and comparatively cheap. Nice waterfall and smooth rocks nice boat journey and nice bus journey. Little bit risky so please try to visit with your parents. They will also have their lifetime experience."
HolidayIQ Traveller Sreenivasa from Bangalore shares, "Road from Mysore is good Better to stay in Mysore & cover these places. Beauty and the view is good. The temple is on River Cauvery side. Good to take bath in the river. A bridge connects the other side of River Cauvery. On the other side is Gunja Narasimha Temple. I am covering this temple separately."
HolidayIQ Traveller Prajwal Hebbale from Bangalore shares, "The roads are very good. It's the national highway. People respond very well to our requests. They are very hospitable. It's a beautiful ride. Green everywhere. You will find good hotels on the roadside. To guide you there will be sign boards. Sharavan Bhavan is hotel which has delicious recipes. You will love the journey."
