A Turkish Airlines flight, which landed at 4:30 am from Istanbul, had supposedly carried ten packets of radioactive material, out of which four had leaked. According to reports, the consignment contained medicines to treat cancer and was intended for delivery at Fortis Hospital in the city.
As soon as the leak was detected, staff at the terminal were asked to leave and NDRF teams were deployed. NSG and CISF teams are currently working with the NDRF and have cordoned off the area.
More details are awaited.
