1 Mumbai
Mumbai still remains the undisputed gay capital of India with its history of gay activism (Bombay Dost and Gay Bombay), an increasingly attractive International Film Gay film festival buoyed by the local Bollywood industry, a hip party scene that’ll keep you wondering where to spend your weekend and the center of gay business- from books to merchandize stores.
2 Delhi

The national capital is not far behind and has been catching up with Mumbai with its annual queer fests (organized by Nigah), a slew of gay friendly initiatives like QueerCampus and massive Pride parades.
3 Bangalore

IT Hub showed its Pride recently and many corporates that have been nurtured by this city displayed their support to the gay community. The Bangalore gay film festival has been attracting larger crowds and the city’s open culture where young people stay away from their families has given rise to a truly 21st century Indian gay culture

Traditionally a conservative city that has made great strides towards LGBT rights lately. The Tamil Nadu government has been giving special protections to transgenders and groups like Chennai Dost have been organizing art exhibitions, film screenings and pride marches.
