Khawaja Gharibnawaz (R.A) Dargah Ajmer

Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty Dargah of  Sufi saint at Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. It is old saying that people who visit Ajmer Sharif and pray with pure faith and loyalty at his Dargah will  free their soul. Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti is also known by different names as, Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, “Sultan-Ul-Hind”, Khwaja Baba, Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Ajmeri, Khwaja Sahib, Khwaja Saheb, Khwaja Ajmeri Saint Moinuddin Chishty. The Dargah Khawaja Gharibnawaz ( R.A) has several tombs, buildings, Daalaans and courtyards are of  Mughal architecture.

Dear Brothers and Sisters

“AS-SALAM-O-ALIKUM. Let me introduce myself, I am just an ordinary servant of Khawaja Baba who is greatly impressed and humbled by this place called Dargah Shareif. This is a place where people of different religion, cast, creed and colour visit to fulfill their wishes and desires. In fact it’s said that nobody ever returns empty handed from Khawaja’s Darbar. At this day and age when people all around us are fighting in the name of religion and colour, for such a place to exist where people stand together no matter what, seems like a miracle.

In my quest to further its cause, I discovered people are interested in knowing more about it and in fact want to be a part of this miracle. This led me to search for means and a medium through which I could take this place to the world, share it with everyone.

Now with the grace of All Mighty Allah, blessings of Huzoor Nabi-E-Karim Mohammad and Khawaja Garieb Nawaz of Ajmer I have found both the means and the medium to shape my wish.

My main aim of creating this site is to enable more and more people to benefit from the blessings of Khawaja Baba and realise the power of All mighty Allah and his disciple, Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty of Ajmer.”

Flag Hoisting

Annual Urs commences with Flag Hoisting at Buland Darwaza

On the appearance of the moon for the month of Rajab, there comes a change in daily routine which is generally held at the Holy Shrine. The main entrance of the Holy Tomb which in ordinary days is closed at night, is kept open through out the day and night (barring for 2 or 3 hours at night) during the six days of Urs. All other daily and weekly programmes are suspended and few functions and ceremonies commence from that night.

Qul Day ( Final Day)

Qul ceremony takes place on the last day of Urs which is also the sixth day of the month of Rajab. This is considered to be a very important day. After the morning prayer, people start gathering the Holy Tomb.The activities include recital of Quran, Darood, Shijra-e-Chishtia and other verses. People also tie small turbans on each other’s head and pray for the benefit of the people, for peace, prosperity and happiness.

URS 2015

• On 15th of April 2015 [25th Jamdul Sahani] flag hosting ceremony after Asar Namaz 6:00 pm.
• On 20th ofApril 2015 [ 1st of rajab] the URS starts, the first gusal will star and the mehfil-e-sama will start in the Dargah Sharif.
• On 25th of April 2015 [6th of rajjab chatte sharif] the main day of Urs Sharif, the coul fathe will be at 1:00 pm before zohar prayer.
• On 28th of April 2015 [9th rajjab] the last day of urs which is call bara qoul ,the main fathe and dua will be at 9:00 am. And the devotee of Hazrat Khawaja Gharib Nawaz r.a will wash the entire Darah Sharif. From 4th of June [1st of rajjab] till 9th of June[ 6 rajjab] the Dargah Sharif will remain open 24 hours except for some hour they will close for the urs ritual [ ghusal sharif]
