Polem Beach, Goa:
Polem beach is the southernmost beach of Goa. It is a very secluded with large stretches of white sands. The beach has just a couple of shacks, but hardly any tourists. A small road from the National highway leads to the beach. Polem beach is located at a distance of about 50 kms. from the city of Margao.
The beach in fact has more tourists from the town of Karwar in Karnataka than it has from Goa. From the beach one can see the island of Anjdiv in the distance protruding out from the sea a few kilometers off the beach. The island is the location of the future Naval base of India on the West Coast. The modernization and building of this base is in progress currently. When ready, INS Vikramaditya and its carrier fleet will be based at this naval base. One can reach the beach by bus from Karwar and Canacona.

POLEM BEACH IN SOUTH GOA
This is a place where South Goa beaches are ending and the Karnataka state sea coast line starts. Polem Beach is the last beach among a number of amazing Goa beaches and the last beach also for the Canacona region (Canacona Taluk). Polem Beach resort lies 30 km from the Chaudi municipal center and 27 km from one of the most famous beaches of the region – Palolem Beach.
Polem Beach is about 700 m long; this is a sand bar in form of a sickle, which ends from both its sides with steep overgrown green capes. High palm trees are lined up in rows alongside the whole sea coast line. The sand here has a light-golden color; the area is quite wide. The view onto the ocean is breathtakingly beautiful: blue challenging waters of the ocean and lots of small islands which interrupt its blue surface and the peaceful circling above of sea birds.
Polem Beach is mainly a deserted place, so there is a huge possibility that except fishermen you won’t meet anyone and be the only one visitor of this fantastic and quiet resort. But in a few shacks which you will easily find at the beach you will be able to try fresh seafood dishes, soft drinks and different refreshments.
The accommodation in Polem Beach can’t suggest its visitors and guests lots of variants to stay in: just small houses made of cane with palm leaves roofs which would cost you about 200 rupees.
The only type of activity you can be engaged to are usual beach entertainment: taking sunbaths and swimming in warm sea waters. This resort will perfectly suit those tourists who are planning to have a complete privacy and relaxation in the most economical conditions.
You can reach Polem Beach resort by municipal buses which are running from cities of Panjim/Panaji, Margao or Chaudi to Karwar city. All of them are making a stop in Polem village. Then you will need to walk about 1,5 km through rise fields. One other way to get to Polem Beach resort is to take a taxi or auto-rickshaw services. You also can reach Polem resort by motor-boat: the trip will take about 30 minutes.
