Here are some main attractions within Shimla Town.

Toy-Train A tour from Kalka to Shimla is just amazing. The toy train twists its way gradually through the hills up to the alpine, approaching of the demeaning Himalayas. Through the way some of the awesome views of the landscape can be cherished at Kushalya River, Koti, Barog, Kanoh, Jabli 1,240 meters above sea level.

 

Kalka Simla Toy Train has about 7 coaches that can accommodate least 200 passengers in a single trip. The rail route indeed, possesses 107 tunnels but the train passes through 103 tunnels, big and small. The toy trains cross the longest tunnel at Barog in 3 minutes. Besides the Barog tunnel, other 3 big tunnels on this route are Koti - 2,276 feet, Taradevi - 1,615 feet and Tunnel no. 103 - 1,135 feet.

THE RIDGE The Ridge road is a large open space, located in the heart of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. It runs east to west alongside the Mall Road, and joins it at the Scandal point on the west side. On the east side, the Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. The Ridge houses a large water reservoir which acts as the main supply of Shimla town

LAKKAR BAZAR: Lakkar Bazaar is a marketplace adjoining the Ridge in Shimla, India. Shops offer wooden articles targeted mainly towards tourists. There is also a roller skating rink in Lakkar Bazaar. The state hospital known as Indira Gandhi Medical College and hospital is also adjoining to Lakkar Bazaar.

VICEREGAL LODGE:The building that houses the Institute was originally built as a home for Lord Dufferin, Viceroy of India from 1884 - 1888 and was called the Viceregal Lodge.[2] It housed all the subsequent viceroys and governor generals of India. It occupied the Observatory Hill, one of the seven hills that Shimla is built upon.
