1. PRASHAR LAKE, HIMACHAL PRADESH

Another relatively unknown but impressive destination in the Himalayas.
Situated in Uttarakhand, at a distance of just 310 kms from Delhi, Jilling is a perfect getaway for the extended weekend. Its most famous property is the Jilling estate which entices a throng of genuine adventure lovers every weekend. Its proximity to Bhimtal and Nainital is an additional advantage.

 3. MunnarKerala

Munnar is probably the most famous hill station in Kerala. It is famous for its tea plantations which are known worldwide. One gets a chance to view the highest peak in South India- The Anaimudi (2695 m) from here. The Eravikulam wildlife sanctuary is another tourist hotspot of the region.

 4. SURSINGDHAR, UTTRAKHAND

Probably the best 'secret' hill station of Uttrakhand. Situated at a distance of 300 kms from Delhi and just 65 kms fromRishikesh, Sursingdhar provides some of the most incredible views of the Nanda Devi and the Tehri Lake. One can also hire mountain bikes and set off on jungle expeditions. And one cannot afford to miss the delightful sunsets of this Sursinghdhar.

 5. MCLEODGANJ, HIMACHAL PRADESH

A hot favourite amongst the youth of India, Mcleodganj provides the best of both worlds. It has a plethora of high end hotels for a comfortable stay, and yet, one can escape from his comfort zone and indulge in a daunting trek till Triund. It also has other mini tourist spots like Bhagsunath Falls and Dal Lake. It lies at a distance of 500 kms from Delhi.

 6. Ranikhet, UTTRAKHAND

Ranikhet was once considered to be the best hill Station of India and was even nominated to be the Summer Capital of India during the British Rule. It has lost its old fame but has thankfully preserved its natural beauty. The Chaubatia Orchards, The natural 9-hole Golf Course, the snowline views and the pine forests are some of the most famous assets of Ranikhet. It is situated at a distance of 350 kms from Delhi.

 7. Lonavala, MAHARASHTRA

Lonavala is arguably the favourite hill station of Mumbaikars. With the flora in its full bloom during the monsoon months of June-August, Lonavala transforms itself into a giant green carpet. The Bushy Dam, situated at a distance of 6 kms from Lonavala is also the most visited part of region. Lonavala lies at a distance of 100 kms from Mumbai and 70 kms fromPune.

Gushaini is a small Himachali hill station located in the foothills of the Great Himalayan National Park(a World Heritage Site). Gushaini is a 500km bike ride away from Delhi. Situated besides the Tirthan stream, trout fishing is the best activity to indulge into.

Despite being located at a distance of less than 300 kms from Delhi, Dhanaulti is relatively untouched by tourists. While most of the Weekend tourists prefer the nearby town of Mussorie, only the most curious folks get a chance to witness the serenity of Dhanaulti.

10. Khajjiar, HIMACHAL PRADESH

Khajjiar’s pristine grace and alluring beauty has earned it the much deserved title of “MiniSwitzerland”. Located at a height of 2000 mts. above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhars, this hill station is marked by a lush green meadows, surrounded by dense Deodar forests. Despite being located at a distance of 580 km. from Delhi, one shouldn’t have much trouble in covering this venue over an extended weekend.
