News - Mumbai - Minor mentally challenged girl gangraped



Mumbai, June 30: 20-year-old Nilesh Nirbhavane, a back up dancer who acted in the recently released movie ABCD2, has been arrested.

Nilesh along with his two other friends has been accused of raping a mentally-challenged minor girl. According to media reports, Nilesh confessed to his crime.
All three accused have been booked under Sections 376D (gang rape), 377 (unnatural offences) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

It has been report that Nilesh and his friends took 14-year-old Sambhavna (name changed) to public toilets and other isolated places and raped her multiple times since May 2015.

While Mumbai Police succeeded to arrest Nilesh, they are yet to nab the other two accused. Nilesh has been sent to police custody till July 4.

According to sources, Sambhavana's teacher first noticed changes in her behaviour. Later she questioned Sambhavana and found out that the minor girl was gangraped. Sambhavana's teacher informed her parents, who later filed FIR against the three accused.
