This week's horoscope for you

Aries :: With the Moon placed in its Sign of debilitation, Scorpio, in the 8th House from your Sign, you may be feeling low and depressed. Besides, with Mars, the Ruler of your Sign being in combust state, you may be wondering why things are not moving the way you had planned, despite your best efforts. People around you may find faults with your work, without any reason and this strange behaviour may baffle you. On Tuesday night, the full Moon will start shining on the skyline and with this, feelings are likely to run high. Some health problems may bother you now, but you should be able to avoid major complications if you take preventive measures at the earliest. You may also feel agitated for not being able to find the right direction to make progress. Jupiter's conjunction with Saturn will make you aware of your limitations. Take this in your stride, and work to improve

Taurus :: Ganesha says there may be some serious differences between your life partner and you over priorities regarding household matters. You may be so busy with your work that you will have little time and energy left to seriously attempt to diffuse the crisis-like situation - needless to say, this would make problems worse. And on being provoked, you may tend to go to the extremes. This may be partly because fiery planets Sun and Mars will be placed in the 2nd House, which is related to speech. With retrograde Saturn placed in opposition, you are likely to sound arrogant and overbearing in conversation with other people. You will need to check this tendency and be polite, especially while talking with influential persons and also your loved ones. You may suffer from sore throat or severe toothache. Attend to these conditions on urgent basis to avoid any further complications. Unexpected expenses related to family and household may come up frequently around this time and upset your savings plans.

Gemini :: The Full Moon falling on Tuesday may leave you perplexed as there will be contradictory planetary influences around that period. The Moon will be in a Sagittarius. It will connect with retrograde Saturn and will be in opposition to combust Mars placed in your Sign, along with Sun and Mercury, the Ruler of your Sign. Confusions may be at their highest levels because of this planetary alignment. To top it up, the influence of Mars will make you agitated and all worked up, while the connection of Moon with retrograde Saturn may make you aware of your imitations and propel you to become subdued. But the positive influences of Jupiter will bring some respite. This will work well in calming your nerves and help you see things in the right perspective. You are likely to be keen on setting priorities for routine activities and this will help you streamline work and move ahead steadily to achieve progress.

Cancer :: With the Full Moon approaching, emotions are likely to run high now. You may tend to get agitated and also be very confused about your present state of affairs. This is largely because of Moon coming under conflicting influences. The Full Moon will be in conjunction with strict disciplinarian Saturn and will be in opposition to combust Mars. Mars is considered more favourable for Cancer. But since Mars will be in a combust state, it could lead to temperamental problems which may prevent you from seeing things in the right perspective. And it is because of this that you will experience confusion on the Full Moon day. But from Thursday onward, you are likely to feel relaxed as the Moon will come under the influence of Venus placed in your Sign. You will now be able to focus well. On the job front, you are likely to face a difficult time as your boss may seem to be overbearing and critical of your work. This may also compel you to look for a job change.

Leo :: With the Full Moon approaching, you are likely to be very emotional around this time. Besides, with the combust Mars exerting its influence over the Full Moon, temperamental issues may become somewhat difficult to handle. Taking time out for recreation, listening to music or enjoying quiet mornings shall help you calm your frayed nerves. Try to find time to spend with your loved ones, quips Ganesha. On the financial front, some good monetary gains are likely to cheer you up. It could be returns from an investment made earlier or incentives from the organisation you work for. Overall, your financial position stands to improve remarkably. With Venus placed in the 12th House from your Sign, you may also spend money on luxuries and fun activities. Even for businessmen involved in foreign trade, this seems to be a lucrative time. Professionals may get well-paying assignments, while freshers seeking employment opportunities may find stars in their favour. Over the weekend, Venus will enter your Sign to join Jupiter, already placed therein.

Virgo :: With the Moon placed in Scorpio, you may be in a mood to take the challenges head on. The Full Moon will be shinning in the sky on Tuesday. The Full Moon will be in conjunction with retrograde Saturn and in opposition to combust Mars placed in the 10th House. You are likely to feel rebellious and may fight against the traditional practices. But Ganesha says that instead of working against the system, direct your energy to give an improved performance. With Mercury, the Ruler of your Sign and that of the 10th House, moving in retrograde mode, it may not be the right time to take any action. Instead, look back to review decisions taken earlier and plug the loopholes in your strategy to make progress in your pursuit. Later, Ruler of the 2nd House from your Sign, Venus, will changes Sign to enter Leo. Venus will now be placed in the 12th House from your Sign. This change may lead to increase in family-related and personal expenses.

Libra :: You may feel very emotional around this time. Blame it on the approaching Full Moon, says Ganesha. You may also develop the tendency to rebel and bring about drastic changes in the system or your surroundings. Also, the Full Moon, which is placed in opposition to combust Mars, may add fuel to the fire, intensifying an argument and making situation more complex. Moreover, the Full Moon will be placed in Sagittarius, which is a Sign of rebellion. All of this will add to the already existing confusion about the future course of action. Respite, however, will come in the form of the benefic effect of Jupiter, which will be placed in the 11th House from your Sign. Your inherent ability to balance things perfectly may come to the fore now and you will be able to focus on important matter pending for long. At work, colleagues will be very cooperative and encourage you to perform well. Businesspersons can also expect to have a good time now, while professionals too will have hands full with work.

Scorpio :: With the Moon placed in your Sign, you will be in your elements now and in full control of yourself. You will have a strong desire to rise from mediocrity. The fierce, often blinding, self belief and power to recover from adversity will define you now. With the full Moon to follow soon, you will be sensitive and eager to express your feelings. The full Moon will be placed in fiery Sign Sagittarius in the 2nd House from your Sign and in opposition to combusted Mars. And it could be because of this that you may tend to act with conviction. However, with the Ruler of your Sign, Mars, in a combust state and Saturn and Mercury being retrograde, you may not be able make much headway. But Ganesha says patience is the key here. The influence of Jupiter over the 6th House related to job/employment is likely to work well in keeping your position secure and future growth prospects alive.

Sagittarius :: With combust Mars in conjunction with the Sun, which is placed in opposition to your Sign, you are likely to sound temperamental during this period. Moreover, the Full Moon is nearing now and with this tempers are likely to flare, leading to discords in personal life. The Full Moon will be placed in your Sign bringing to the fore your inherent traits. You, by nature, tend to be adventurous, volatile, exaggerated in speech and expression and fully in love with freedom. Once angered, you may get wild; controlling your temper will be a must if you're looking to find progress in life. On the positive side, you can also be fun loving and easy going, which is why anger limits your reach and affects your overall performance. Ganesha says lateral thinking is likely to help you keep your cool and stay on the right path. From Thursday onwards, you are likely to be in an amicable mood. This is courtesy Moon which will be influenced by planet of love, Venus. Thursday also seems to be a favorable day for making monetary gains.

Capricorn :: The Moon will be placed in its Sign of debilitation, Scorpio, at the beginning of this week, and the next day, Full Moon will be shining on the skyline. This phenomenon will take place in fiery and freedom-loving Sign Sagittarius, in the 12th House from your Sign. The Moon will first conjunct with retrograde Saturn. This will compel you to think negatively about your future growth prospects and leave you stressed. And, to add to this confusion, combust Mars will oppose the Full Moon. With the Moon placed in Sagittarius, you are likely to remain tensed and agitated. You may feel like breaking free from the chains of routine life to regain your composure. And this is surprising given that the Capricorn by nature do not like changes. They look for constancy. But you accept change when it suits your ambition, professional growth and success. You could be ready for such a change now, but some visible uncertainty may shake your confidence. From Thursday, you are likely to be back to your usual confident self and prepared to accept new challenges.

Aquarius :: You are likely to be concerned about growth in your field of activity. You don't shy away from experimenting and trying out new thing. This week you will be highly motivated to make a mark and bring your talents to the fore. As time for Full Moon comes nearer, you will increasingly feel determined. The crunch in the story is about Ruler of the 10th House of Occupation, Mars in combust state. This triggers intense emotions and you may not see the situation in right perspective. A kind of casual approach, on your part, may lead to missing a good opportunity. Full Moon falls on Tuesday. Combust Mars is posited in opposition to Full Moon. Intensity of feelings/emotions is likely to increase. However, positive influences of Jupiter over the Moon, is likely to help in calming of nerves. In turn, enables you to direct energy for constructive purpose. Over weekend, most favorable planet for you, Venus enters fiery fix Sign Leo,to join Jupiter posited therein. Venus is now posited in the 7th House from your Sign. Single ones, looking for the right person to enjoy romance, may have difficulty in getting right opportunity to express their feelings.

Pisces :: Domestic matters and matters related to career or occupation may call for your attention around this time. Some urgent repairs in residential place may be needed. Also, you may need to change an old gadget and replace it with a new one. On account of aspect of combust Mars over the tenth House, you may feel like you have more options to work on. This feeling may see you adopt a kind of careless attitude in your current pursuit. If this attitude is carried too far, you may hurt your growth prospects. Keeping this in mind, Ganesha says you must shake off complacency and try to remain focused on the work at hand. You will need to work hard till you come across a specific offer that might interest you. The positive influence of Jupiter will help you strike a balance at workplace and sail ahead. In money matters, position of Nodes (Rahu and Ketu) on the axis of the 2nd and the 8th House, acts as impediment in progress.

Did you know that poor sleep quality can affect your child IQ?

New study reveals that inadequate and poor sleep quality may adversely affect the performance of children in intelligence tests. "This is an important discovery that confirms the major role of sleep in consolidating cognitive abilities," said researcher Roger Godbout, professor at the University of Montreal in Canada. The study involved 13 autistic children and 13 neurotypical children - children with a mean age of 10 years without an intellectual deficiency or sleep problem and who were not on medication. The researchers found that disruptions in protective brain waves during sleep are associated with lower results on verbal IQ (intelligence quotient) tests. These observations apply for both groups of children, the researchers said. It also appears that the quality of sleep over the whole night, and not only before midnight or at the end of the night, promotes good intellectual functioning, they said. "This study establishes a doubt that children and adolescents are particularly affected by lack of sleep, especially because they are in an important developmental period," Godbout said. The study was published in the International Journal of Psychophysiology.

HolidayIQ Traveller Sj Singh from Delhi says, "A trip to Port Blair & its beaches & islands is a fun, full of adventure. I visited in last May'14. We enjoyed the local market, The Gurdwara, The jail. Of course this heritage site & its show, reminded us the sacrifices and sufferings the freedom fighters faced during their term here. The adventure was in sea sports like Scooty ride, Sofa ride, Motor boat riding in the sea. The thumps of waves during these rides forces you to forget the fast life of Delhi. The snorkelling at Jolly buoy island & Scuba diving at Ross Island made us discover the underwater world. Though seemingly scary to dive underwater for 20-25 feet in scuba diving but frankly It is worth to do & safe also. You need not know swimming for this. The cruise ride to Havelock & enjoy the best beech Radhanagar is worth staring & bathing in sea. Time always run short in admiring the beauty of this beach. The best part is the locals speak & understand Hindi nicely. Of course Don't forget to admire the islands from the plane. They look awfully beautiful."

HolidayIQ Traveller Tushar Borude from Pune says, "How one could forget the name Kerala & its holiday in his entire life, I don't think one would. I been there in the first week of March and found am I spending my holiday in this country. The destination is full of excitements, beauty with colours and of course a place for rest with spa. I was not the only person who was present, what I observed is all the age group people were enjoying one of their beautiful holiday's in Kerala during my stay. Places to be visited would start from Munnar, the perfect destination to see tea plantation, many gardens, the lake beauty and many more with the joy of peace and rest. Then comes next point as Thekkady. No words to describe this beautiful place but still I would recommend once to take a ride to Jungle Safari & one memorable small tour of elephant ride. One can see the martial art programme an evening show. Enjoy the boat ride in Periyar wildlife sanctuary. From Thekkady, move your foot to Alleppey, the home in the sea. The perfect house boat package would give the joy which you would have never thought of it. During all my stay I preferred to have veggie food which includes mostly the special Puttu rice of Kerala and then comes coconut rice. In Thekkady, you will have the food with yummy spices and taste. And of course in-house, you order what you want, you will have it at your desk. Try to taste market food instead of opting the hotel food as they have limited variety, rather market would give you the taste you have never thought of. Spare some additional money for shopping like spices, the great masala & green teas, ayurvedic medicines, beauty products, etc

Travel hacks - These tips will give you ridiculously gorgeous vacay hair

Amidst all that planning, plotting and packing for that perfect vacation, don't let hair care take a backseat. From pretending to have a head full of clean hair by using dry shampoo to protecting your hair from the heat, hairstylist Asgar Saboo doles out tips to make your hair look its best during the vacation. Two words, dry shampoo Dry shampoo has been gaining popularity recently. I always encourage the use of dry shampoo during summer for individuals more prone to oiliness. As the name suggests, dry shampoo absorbs the oil in your hair and gives it a softness, and more importantly voluminous shape. It becomes effective after a few days of not washing your hair. Avoid excessive shampooing If you have dry hair, it's probably because you are washing your hair too often. People should cut back a little on the frequency of washing their hair. The reason behind this is that excessive shampooing can actually remove the natural oils that are necessary for your hair's strength. As beach season is upon us, you are not wrong for wanting to wash that sand and chlorine out of your hair, however instead of applying shampoo, rinse the hair in the shower with a scalp massage. This revitalises the cells and exfoliates them. Tone down the heat People who suffer from dandruff or a dry scalp usually expose their hair to the strong heat of a blow dryer. Excessive blow outs cause the scalp to dry out and without the natural moisture that the oils provide, the scalp becomes flaky, just as skin anywhere else would. Maintain your colour tone In rolling with the seasons, change is always good. The use of colour-depositing conditioners is vital, as they nourish the roots that have been subject to strong chemicals in hair dye. Cover it up Given that sun rays are more abundant during the sweltering months of summer, you are going to be more exposed naturally. Therefore, time spent outdoors, even if for a short time, has the potential to damage your scalp. You should grab a scarf or hat to protect the scalp as much as possible. This helps retain some moisture and helps in preventing the stimulation of dandruff.
