Richard Gere to romance Lilette Dubey in 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' sequel

Actor Lilette Dubey must be on seventh heaven these days. And why not? The talented Lilette is all set to share screen space with none other than Hollywood legend Richard Gere. The duo have been paired opposite each other in the sequel of the 2011 crossover film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

The director of the film, John Madden, has already decided his cast for the sequel which will again have much of the same cast as the original with the likes of Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson and Billy Nighy joining in. The Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel, who was part of the original, is reportedly not in the sequel, with Richard Gere stepping in. Model-turned-actress Tena Desae will also be a part of the cast.

Says a source, "Tina is in the sequel. But not Dev. They're looking for a replacement. The biggest add-on in the sequel is Richard Gere who has been cast opposite Lilette Dubey."

In the original movie which received rave reviews, Lilette was seen playing the vivacious and chatty Mrs Kapoor. In the sequel she will have a love interest played by Richard Gere. While the details of the sequel are being guarded very safely under a confidentiality clause, a reliable source informs that the sequel begins shooting in India in January 2014.

"The sequel will be shot in one long schedule in Jaipur and Udaipur," informs the source.
