She sometimes made the first move even when you didn’t ask for it, and yet it felt just right. She stepped back just when you needed time alone. 

She offered you love, loyalty, friendship, passion- intensely emotional, intensely physical, intensely spiritual, conflicts, dedication, thought, perspective, politics, inspiration, warmth, conversations, and maybe a house to call a home. 

More importantly, she offered you her companionship through every thick and thin of your life.

And she came in many different shades every time- sometimes mother, sometimes friend, sometimes sister, sometimes a partner, and sometimes just the other point of view.

Places near Mumbai

Kashid

A soothing and calm place in nature’s lap, Kashid is amazing with its quiet environment and picturesque location. This beach town is known also for its majestic mountains and whispering casuarinas. Chaul, which lies near Kashid, has many Buddhist caves that are of public interest, and also famous churches and temples. The Korlai Fort is another beautiful attraction here.

Get there: By taking a long drive across 140 kms. Alternately, you can take the train to Roha and then hire a cab or bus.

Kamshet

A popular paragliding hotspot, Kamshet captures the idyllic village life surrounded by paddy fields and sunflower fields. Other attractions include the Bhairi caves, Bhedsa caves, Khondeshwar temple, Pavana Lake and Shinde Wadi hills.

Get there: By via private jeeps or cars. Alternately, you can take the train to Kamshet.

Kolad

Famous for white water rafting, Kolad is a thriving tiny village in the Raigad district in Maharashtra.

Get there: By booking private taxis or state run buses.

Places near Delhi

Chamba

56 kms off Dalhousie, Chamba is popular for its temples and adventure sports amidst the rolling Himalayan hills. If you like the adrenaline rush, Chamba offers opportunities for rafting, trekking, camping, kayaking and other such sports. 

The Surara temple and Brajeshwaritemples are other popular attractions.

Get there: By buses, taxis or treks from various other destinations around Uttaranchal. If you like windy highways, you can drive the 219 kms away.

Corbett National Park

Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and is home to the critically endangered species of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas and along the banks ofRamaganga River, it is home to around 50 species of trees, 580 bird species and 50 species of animals along with 25 reptile species spread over an area of more than 500 sq km covering riverine belts, hills, marshy depressions, lakes, streams and grasslands. 

The Park is divided into 5 zones namely Bijrani, Dhikala, Jhirna, Domunda and Sonanandi and all of them have different gates. A visit to Corbett National Park is incomplete without a jungle safari, so make sure you go for a safari.

Get there: By railways. 51 kms off Corbett is Ramnagar that can be easily reached by railways from Delhi. Pantnagar is the nearest domestic airport, and Delhi the closest international airport. You can also take NH 121 that connects Ramnagar toDelhi, Lucknow, Varanasi and Nainital.

Nuh

70 kms off Delhi and a 190 m altitude, the historical city of Nuh traces its roots to the Aryan civilisation, and later theTughlaq Dynasty. It boasts of several historical structures and ruins. Nuh lies in the Mewat district of Haryana. With carvings on the red sandstone and grey quartzite, the architectural marvel of the place can be seen in its Shaking Monument, the Chui Mai Pond or Tank, the town of Sheikh Musa, Kotla and in the religious sites.

Get there: By private car, bus or taxi. The closest railway station is at Palwal

Ramnagaram

Perfect for trek lovers, Ramnagaram is also famous for its silk production andRamdevarabetta Vulture Sanctuary.

Get there: By rails. Alternately, book a cab or drive upto Ramnagaram.

Bheemeshwari 

This small town near Bangalore city is a perfect getaway for a nature lover and in its seclusion is a good break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Get there: By buses are easily available to Bheemeshwari

Sravanabelagola

The most important pilgrim centre for Jains, Sravanabelagola has a powerful cultural heritage. Along with its intriguing historical past, this city is naturally blessed, being encompassed by mountains on either side with moderate climate. Attractions here are religious and constitute various temples and the prime attraction of the world’s highest monolithic statue.

Get there: by a train to Hassan, and then hire a cab. Alternately, you can drive or book a cab all the way.
