China is allying and investing much with Pakistan. Why?

Why China is allying and investing with Pakistan and not as much with India?

China is allying and investing with Pakistan but not as much with India because of one of the most important factor, that is China sees itself as the Asian super power and considers India its competitor.
Beside this China knows that any country that can seriously match its military and economic might then it is India. Beside this there is a saying that the enemy of an enemy is your friend, this is very much true in case of China-Pakistan friendship.
China knows very well that one of the founding principles of Pakistan is its anti India views, so basically what China is doing is funding and arming Pakistan so that Pakistan can weaken India or that India is preoccupied with Pakistan and uses its time and resources to tackle Pakistan instead of  becoming a powerful nation.
And by doing this China is in a win win situation because by investing in Pakistan,  China is not only gaining profits but in the long run hopes to make Pakistan its colony and beside these China has got itself a huge market for its military products in Pakistan as Western countries are not eager like before to provide military  aid to Pakistan.
Another important factor why China is allying and investing in Pakistan is the Gwadar Port of Pakistan, which China considers as a gateway to Middle East.
China knows that Pakistan can be a great tool in helping China to establish itself in Middle East both in terms of economic and strategic tie ups.                           www.foxdetective.co.in

Within months of the Dalai Lama’s fight to India following a failed uprising in Tibet, Chinese ambassador Pan Tzu-li wrote to Prime Minister Nehru in May 1959, warning that China would make common cause with Pakistan, thereby forcing India to face military and diplomatic pressure on two fronts.

To this end, Beijing found in Islamabad an only too willing partner. Since then, China has forged close relations with Pakistan, India’s nemesis, primarily to offset Indian power.

China’s overriding strategic interest is to keep Pakistan independent, powerful, and confident enough to present India with a standing two front threat, were India able to dissolve this two-front threat by subordinating Pakistan, its position against China would be much stronger [This would amount to] conceding South Asia as an Indian sphere of influence.

Such a move would spell the virtual end to Chinese aspirations of being the leading Asian power and would greatly weaken China’s position against Indian power.

In the short to medium term, Beijing will continue to prop up Pakistan, since it is vitally important to China’s energy security (by providing access to and bases in the Persian Gulf), military security (by keeping India’s military engaged on its western frontiers), geopolitics (given its geostrategic location at the intersection of South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East), national unity and territorial integrity (Tibet and Xinjiang), and maritime strategy vis-a-vis India, and as a staunch diplomatic ally (in regional and international fora, including the Islamic world), a buyer and supplier of conventional and unconventional weaponry and, above all, a bargaining chip in China’s relations with India and the United States.

The Chinese know that Pakistan is their ‘last and best bet’ to prevent Indian dominance of southern Asia from the Persian Gulf to the Malacca Straits.

  1. It is nothing but a security against India developing and asserting on China.
  2. China lost the port and military bases in Sri Lanka, so they should get the Gwadar Port as their naval base in Indian Ocean in order to assert their naval strength.
  3. It is easy to arm twist Pakistan by investing in their economy as Pak would be less challenging their might. Whereas India, if China invested in that way, would be wary of them and there would also be  a preferential treatment for Indian Industries in India.
  4. More Value addition in India means more FDI of western world getting out of China.
  5. Terror Attacks in Xinjiang can be reduced since most of the rebels are taking their shelter in Pakistan.
  6. To gain trust of Pakistan since the world is accusing China of using Pak as a pawn. A picture speaks more than words. Take a look at this photograph

7. Being wary of a growing Indian defence acquisitions, Make in India Campaign and

8. India will have 3 aircraft carriers by 2017 along with many nuclear sub marines, Rafale Jets etc.... To counter this they need the help from Pakistan so that they can disrupt peace in India at their will.

9. Indian growth rates are going to increase in the coming years, so to divert the world attention from growth to terror and make India vulnerable to attacks and in a way reducing the pace of overall development so that the people in China won't revolt against their own government seeing a democracy succeed.

10. Communist Party of China want to see their prolonged rule with less disturbances which is possible only if Indian democracy is not posing a threat with her ideals.

11. Pakistan is going to be a new market if India puts anti-dumping duty on its exports.

This A2A. Hahahaha

The same reason why China is grabbing India's land and not Pakistan's.

Okay, I'll give you a basic idea. China is a pretty powerful and well developed country. India is on its way to becoming developed. China views that as a threat. If India gains more power, China will obviously lose its influence on a lot of world platforms.
So what do they do?
They play the Pakistan trump card. They give them money and invest, etc. under various schemes which basically have one common goal underneath all that fluff: Cripple India.
Thus, weaponry is produced and India is attacked which hinders its development.
China is undisputed.

P.S. This post just speaks badly about the leaders and governments of these countries. Not the people. Please don't stereotype because I don't believe I did.
