It’s finally here, the SUMMER that we both hate and love. For, while the temperature is soaring, and the hot winds are blowing, we also cannot resist our zeal for travelling to places where we could relieve ourselves away from the heat of the blazing sun.
The best way to make most of the season is to be well prepared for it even while travelling. So get going for cool-cool journeys-
Hydrate it up
1.  Hydrate it up! – A major saviour on travelling in the scorching heat is the fluids. Keep bottled water with you while on the go or you can also fill up your empty bottles by purified(RO) water booths at railway stations. Slurp natural ones such as coconut water, glucose or nimbu paani.
Use frozen water bottles
2.  Frozen Delight – Taking along half-frozen water bottles and eating chilly and frozen popsicles is a bliss in summers.
Eat light and healthy
3. Snack on plenty of cool treats– Instead of going for some solid, hot and oily foods, eating fruits (watermelons, litchis), salads and cucumber should be high on your choice of food.
opt for loose clothing
4.  Let your skin breathe too, with STYLE – Opt for loose clothing (linen and cotton) and for open-end foot wears. And guess what they will go totally in with your summer fashion along with scarf, hat and sunglasses!
Shortest journey train
5.  Go for flexible train choices – You can go for selecting trains with the shortest journey time to minimise your travelling hours in the summer heat.
RailYatri Tip – Check out our train table for complete trains list and select your choicest and most suitable train: http://www.railyatri.in/time-table
Window seat?
6.  Look out for a WINDOW seat or not? – Well, this is probably the most common wish for all of us as train travellers. But getting a window seat in train during summers might become a suffering too as some fresh air from outside can also come with some hot wind blows during peak day hours.
Hand fans
7. Keep handy the hand fans – While some of our travellers might travel in AC coaches, many of us travel in General class. So keep handy those classic and stylish hand fans for at least some air of relief.
wet towels at your pulse points
8. Getty-wetty at your pulse points!- When you hang a damp towel in your train window, the water that evaporates will cool down the incoming breeze. You can also soak towels on your neck, ankles, wrists, inside elbows or behind the knees for instant relief.
Keep calm and Inhale-Exhale
9.  Take it easy – Breathe easy – This is quite strange yet a cool way to keep off your summer blues. Deep breathing exercise lowers body heat, while rolling your tongue back in your mouth when exhaling through the nose, keeps you just so naturally COOL!
So kill your summer train travel woes in time and style. Counter the influence of this heat and travel off cool a bit.
