Astronomy - Astronomer Bob Berman to speak at Unitarian church Nov. 27
TOWN OF ULSTER >> Astronomer Bob Berman will be the guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Catskills on Sunday, Nov. 27.
Berman will speak on "Rethinking Space, Time, Consciousness and the Illusion of Death." His latest book, which focuses on this subject, examines the nature of time, space and consciousness through scientific discoveries in the past 60 years.
A resident of Woodstock, Berman is nationally recognized as the longtime astronomy columnist for "Discover" and "Astronomy" magazines. He has written nine books, has served for many years as astronomy editor of the "Old Farmers Almanac," and lectures on astronomy at area venues such as Mohonk Mountain House and at many national parks.
Worship services are held every Sunday at the Universalist Congregation of the Catskills, 320 Sawkill Road.
