About the Destination:
Bheemeshwari is easily the perfect getaway from Bangalore for very many reasons. Firstly for its distance (120km, 3hrs, Mandya district), secondly for the variety of activities that the this quaint town on the banks of the gorgeous River Cauvery has to offer such as fishing, angling, trekking, and river rafting to name a few. Bheemeshwari is the closest option for all those Bangaloreans who love to throw open their pulsating adrenaline in the arms of nature and the great outdoors.

About the Activity:
With River Cauvery flowing gently for most of her course around here, there are grade 2+ rapids as well for a splendid stretch of 8km, which can be termed as exciting and terrifying by the most experienced of rafters. Head to Bheemeshwari, if you seek tranquility and peace with a dash of adventure in the shortest possible time. If you are a visitor, the closest airport and railway station are in Bangalore. The activity suggested here is ideal for large group of corporates, friends, a diverse group of individuals, and families with older children.
Description:
Around 6am, get behind the wheel and drive towards Bheemeshwari via Kanakpura exit on the NICE road. There are plenty of eateries en route for you to grab a scrumptious breakfast. Rafting sessions are held between 9am to 6pm and you can enroll yourselves in one through advance bookings for a free slot since they operate on a first-come-first-serve basis. To begin with, a briefing is addressed by experienced instructors on the course, techniques, expert tips, safety measures, and equipments. The rafting takes places for a total of 2-2.5 hours during which you will encounter rapids of a Grade 3 nature. Upon completion of the rafting experience, you are driven back to the starting point in a jeep.
As you enter the areas where the river drops at a gradient on submerged rocks, you’ll realize the power of the water current. It is here that your tryst with adventure begins. Be prepared for this difficult stretch, which also gives the most thrills.
Unwind and relax after a truly adventurous day and you may head back to Bangalore around 6pm.

Route: Bheemeshwari is about 100 Kms away from Bangalore, down the Kanakpura-Kollegal Highway. 
Turn off at Halagur, and go down the Halagur –Muttatti road. On the way you will come across JLR’s Bheemeshwari’s Camp.

    Upon arriving at the Jungle Lodges by 8am, you can freshen up and enjoy a welcome drink. After the completion of the rafting session you can engage in a number of exciting activities such as Zip-line, Burma Loops, Parallel Walk, Elephant Walk, Rappelling, Kayaking and Coracle Rides following which you can relish a high-tea break and then head back home.

  • Instructions and Guidelines
    Things to carry:
    • T-Shirt - Carry light cotton T-shirts preferably full sleeves to avoid sun burn. Don’t carry black as it absorbs heat.
    • Cap/Hat - A cap or a hat to cover the head and face against the direct sunlight during peak hours.
    • Ideal clothing - Appropriate for water sports like shorts, T-shirts
    • Change of clothing - After you are done with a rafting
    • Towels - To dry yourself
    • Sturdy foot wears - Footwears with good grip with your feet like strap on sandals (required for rafting) 
    • Sun Screen with UV protection
    • Drinking water - A smaller bottle should be sufficient as you will be in a place very easily accessible to drinking water.
    • Personal Medications (if any)
    Advisory:
    • For safety purposes, do pay heed to the instructions given by the guides
    • Avoid uncomfortable clothing during the activities (like sarees, etc.)
    • Carrying jewellery or other valuables is not advisable.
    • No smoking & consumption of alcohol before or during the activity
    • Plastics (like chocolate wrappers, water bottles, beverages bottle, poly-ethane covers, etc., should be carried back to Urban jungle)
    • Do NOT Litter and scatter plastics and bottles on the Roads. Please Carry the trash & dump at your place of stay
    • Take care of your belongings-mobiles, wallets, cameras
