The Tiger Reserves of India from the 70s have undertaken the job to protect the tigers and for this the Project Tiger and Wildlife Protection Act has been put into use. In order to save this predator from the harmful poachers the Tiger Reserves in India have taken up measures. The Project Tiger was launched in the year 1972 for the conservation of tigers. There are a number of tiger reserves enlisted under this project.
Tigers are the predators who maintain the balance of the population of other species. Carnivores are quite important to our eco system to maintain this balance and tigers therefore should be conserved. Pench Tiger Reserve

Sariska Tiger Reserve

Bhadra Tiger Reserve
Located in the midst of Western Ghats in Chikmagalur and Shimoga districts of Karnataka, the Bhadra Tiger Reserve comprises of two major areas- Muthodi and Lakkavalli. One can spot a diverse range of wildlife in the national park which includes tiger, elephant, panther, Sambhar, Jackal, sloth bear, wild boar and wild dog.
Buxa Tiger Reserve
Located at the North Eastern edge of West Bengal, Buxa Tiger Reserve is somehow associated with Manas National Park. There is a tremendous animal and plant bio-diversity in the area and 60 percent of animal species found here are common to the reserve.
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve
Located near Lakhmipur & Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh, Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is located adjacent to the Indo-Nepal border. It brings together two most incredible sanctuaries of the area-Kishanpura and Katerniaghat Wildlife Sanctuaries.
Indrawati Tiger Reserve
One of the finest and most famous wildlife parks of Chhattisgarh, Indrawati Tiger Reserve is home to one of the last surviving populations of rare wild buffalo. The river flows across the park and forms its northern boundary.
Manas Tiger Reserve
Nestled in the Himalayan foothills around 176 kilometers from Guwahati in Assam, Manas Tiger Reserve plays host to some of the most amazing flora and fauna species. Apart from a wildlife sanctuary, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a tiger reserve and a biosphere reserve.
Melghat Tiger Reserve
Home to as many as 35 tigers, Melghat Tiger Reserve is one of India’s most vital tiger breeding habitats. It was one of the first nine tiger reserves that were notified in 1973-1974 under the Project Tiger. The park houses 250 species of birds and 16 species of snakes that have been spotted here.
Namdapha Tiger Reserve
Located in the Himalayan region, Namdapha Tiger Reserve is located in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. It was declared as a Tiger Reserve by the Government in 1983. The beautiful forests possess great biodiversity of flora and fauna.
Palamau Tiger Reserve
Known for harboring some of the most endangered wildlife species, the Palamau Tiger Reserve has been recorded as the first forest in the world. A large chunk of Palamau Tiger Reserve is covered with dry deciduous forests and the rest is composed of moist mixed deciduous forests.
Panna Tiger Reserve
Situated in the Vindhyan range and spanned across Panna and Chhatarpur districts in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh, Panna Tiger Reserve was created in 1981 and declared a Project Tiger Reserve in 1994. The reserve is dotted with ancient rock paintings, which are said to be around 2000 years old.
Simlipal Tiger Reserve
The Simlipal Tiger Reserve boasts of an extremely rich flora and fauna. With 1076 plant species, 92 orchid species, 42 mammal species, 242 bird species and 30 reptile species, Simlipal National Park houses mind-blowing species of flora and fauna.
