History of Patan

Vanraj Chavda recognized new city as the primary town on samvat 802 vaishakh sud-2 and known as this area of Anahilpur after the name of a bharwad known as Anahilla. This anahilla portion of Patan alias Anahilved Patan was popular as the capital of Vanraj Chavda and Solanki empire. There after Patan had fearless leaders like Bhimdev first, Siddnaraj Jaysinh and Kunarpar, brilliant assistants viz Manjal Mehta, Udan, Vastupal-Tejpal and Prakand Pandits like Kalikal Sarvagna Hemchandracharya, Shantixoori and shripar.

As the patan history, architecture of city historical common monuments of Sahatraleeng Sarovar and king Bheemdev First Rani’s vav integrated the memory of Queen Vdamate are magnificent, and have important place in Gujarat’s history, they have been placed in the nationwide common monuments list too. 


Besides this, Hemchan Dracharya library, Jain wats or temples. Samana kalike mataji forehead of Siddhraj Jaysinh have more significance. In the Vadodara concept also, Patan have a popular position. Besides this, in the newly-created region, Radhanpur taluka had sama’s kingdom of  Nawab of Babi kingdom. Siddhpur town is popular for Radramahal and Matra Shradh. The Jain tample of Parshvanath dada at Shankheshvar town of sami taluka have popular significance.

Ancient capital of Gurjar khand and social, center Anahilvad patan is popular for its golden history noble social heritage, structure, folk art and handicraft of patola.
