The Deccan Odyssey Luxury Train project is a joint venture of the Ministry of Railway, Government of India and MTDC (Maharashtra Tourist Development Corporation). The Deccan Odyssey has been benchmarked against the best luxury trains in the world like the Blue Train of South Africa, the Orient Express of Europe and the Eastern and Oriental of South East Asia. The train is equipped with contemporary amenities and aptly supported by impeccable hospitality. Welcome aboard!  Accommodation The Indian Maharaja - Deccan Odyssey has 21 coaches out of which 11 are passenger cars with 4 coupes each. There are 2 Presidential Suite Cars with 2 coupes per car. Each Presidential Suite has a living room, bedroom, and attached toilet. Each deluxe guest cabin comes equipped with wall-to-wall carpeting, air conditioning, attached toilet with showers, LCD television, personal safe, telephone and personal attendant. Comfortable sleeping and panoramic windows add to the sumptuousness of a veritable luxury ride on board this award winning luxury train in India. Blending seamlessly with the eternal elegance of quaint interior is the modern amenities provided within each carriage. Grace of an erstwhile era merge with modern panache and what you get is gracious interiors with right blend of luxury and unruffled efficiency. The train also has a conference car (can be redesigned as dance floor in the night) and two restaurant cars. There is also a lounge/bar car and one surprising addition is a Spa Car. Apart from the above there are generator cars with luggage store and staff car or spare car. A fine dining experience is in store as you chug along this regal journey into time and fascinating landscapes. Two tastefully appointed restaurants serve both Indian and Continental food. Foods and dining is managed by the prestigious Taj Groups and is freshly prepared and served during the journey. A lounge is set in every passenger car to enable guests to enjoy some moments of leisure. It also acts as a place to meet up with other guests while travelling.
