India
Sari
Sari is a piece of traditional women’s attire which is usually four to nine yards long in length. It is essentially a piece of cloth draped over the body in different styles and ways. Saris are worn by women in many countries such as India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Burma. This traditional costume is worn over a petticoat and a blouse stitched in either full or half sleeves.

Kimono and yukata are considered as Japanese traditional clothes and they are worn during festive times.
China
CHEONGSAM
Cheongsam is the traditional costume of China wore by chinese women. It is a body hugging one piece gown which goes down to the toes. It was created in the 1920’s in the city of Shanghai and then later was adopted as a popular style and fashion statement by the middle class and upper class Chinese population.

DIRNDL
The Dirndl is a type of outfit which comprises a long skirt, shirt, bodice and an apron. Austrian people adopted it as a high fashion garment.
Vietnam
AO DAI
Ao Dai is the national costume of Vietnam and is adorned by women on every special traditional and formal occasions. It is a tight outfit made of silk, represents feminine beauty, and is an important part of Vietnamese culture. The word ‘Ao’ represents the upper part of the outfit where Dai means ‘long’.
Brazil
Baianas are women dressed in the traditional white hoop skirt, lace blouse and African turban. They represent the cultural impact that bringing slaves from Africa has left on Bahia and Brazil.
Malaysia
The Baju Kurung is a traditional Malay dress and is the national dress for Brunei and Malaysia. The popularity of this traditional outfit dates back to the 1970’s and 1980’s when the Islamisation of Malaysia took place. This dress is adorned out of respect at all festivals and traditional occasions. This outfit is also seen worn at traditional events in Singapore and Thailand, where a lot of ethnic Malays reside. It is known as the ‘enclosed dress’ because of its closed structure.

POLLERAS
A Pollera is a Spanish outfit worn by Latin Americans. The outfit's history dates back to the 16th and the 17th centuries when they were a form of popular Spanish colonial dress. Polleras are big one piece skirts, popularly worn during traditional festivals and events. They can be of different materials, but the most popular type of polleras are silk and cotton.
Hawaii
The muumuu is a piece of formal clothing worn during parties and other festivals and weddings. This outfit is also adorned for its classy look by women working in the hotel industry. This dress is loose and the sleeves hang a little loosely from the shoulders.
Spain
TRAJE DE FLAMENCA
This type of costume called the Traje de Flamenca is worn by the Flamenco dancers in Spain during their dance performances and shows. The costume is beautifully decorated, both in plain or polka dots, and usually in bright colours such as red or yellow, or even blue. The dress is long enough to reach the knees. The ruffles on the skirt and sleeves make this a striking outfit.
Fiji
Sulu Skirt
A sulu is a type of skirt traditionally worn by men and women in Fiji. It is regarded as Fiji's national dress.
It consists of a rectangular cloth of varying length, between below-knee and ankle-length, wrapped around the hips and legs and traditionally fastened by tying at the waist. Modern men's sulus may be fastened with buckles. Women's casual or everyday sulus are known as sulu-i-ra, and more elegant full-length ones for dressy occasions as sulu jaba
Central Greece
The Karagouna is the famous female costume from Thessaly in Central Greece. The Karagouna costume is a wedding dress with bright colors symbolizing the wealth of the valley of Thessaly. The name came out of the way the women could move only their heads because of the weight of the costume and their jewellery.
