Visit Bid Wars in Kerala launched

Kerala Tourism launches online bidding game

Kerala Tourism has launched an online bidding game offering holiday packages at virtually no cost. ‘VisitKerala BidWars’ will be played out on the Facebook page of Kerala Tourism.
The bid, joined by accredited tour operators, includes packages from Rs.8,000 to Rs.78,000.
Aimed at domestic travellers, it is organised as part of the ongoing ‘Visit Kerala 2015’ campaign.
The campaign will be anchored on an online bidding system known popularly as the ‘lowest unique bid.’
Under this bidding system, the package, which is up for bidding, is won by the person whose bids the lowest. If two people bid the same price, that amount will get cancelled.
Kerala Tourism, which has more than 1.2 million fans on Facebook, is a pioneer in using IT to spread awareness about the State’s destinations.
For making the bidding a success, Kerala Tourism has partnered with nine service providers, including the State-owned KTDC. The packages range from two nights to 10 days. The bidding will happen for one package each at a time.
The package and its worth will be available on the Facebook app. The bidding will take place on the Facebook page (http://bit.ly/KeralaBidWars). An android app titled ‘VisitKerala BidWars’ which is available on Google Play Store (http://bit.ly/VisitKeralaBidWars) can also be used to take part in the bidding.
The bidding process begins with signing up on app or downloading the ‘VisitKerala BidWars’ app from Play Store.
After searching the offer, bid the lowest possible price. The bid will be active for a few days.
The winner will be announced for each package soon after it ends and before the next package will be up for bidding.
The bid, joined by accredited tour operators, includes packages from Rs.8,000 to
Rs.78,000.
