Nestle - Double trouble for Nestle as live larvae found in its products

Coimbatore:Trouble seems to be pouring like rain for Nestlé these days. After the ongoing Maggi controversy, it has landed itself in another contentious situation.
According to The New Indian Express, a sample of Nestlé's milk powder has been declared unsafe by the Tamil Nadu Food Safety Wing after an 18-month old toddler of taxi-driver K Prem Ananth reportedly developed allergic reactions after consuming Nestlé NAN PRO3 milk for toddlers.
Analysis of the milk powder sample by the Food Analysis Laboratory, Coimbatore confirmed that the 380 gm sample contained 28 live larvae and 22 rice weevils, the daily reported.
R Thenmozhi, the food analyst who conducted the tests confirmed that the "Nestle NAN PRO 3 submitted for analysis does not conform to standards specified under Regulation 2.1.9(5) of the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations as it contains live insects," the Express reported.
She added that the report couldn't be used to classify all Nestlé products unsafe.
The new discovery comes at a time when Nestlé is struggling to keep its head out of the water and image of its most popular product pristine.
With Maggi getting banned in several states and live larvae being discovered in its milk powder sample, Nestlé is in for big trouble.
