Ten places prove that ruins ate still beautiful to visit:
Maluti is a small town near Shikaripara in Dumka District of Jharkhand. In this town 72 ancient temples called the Maluti Temples. According to the local legend the king of Nankar state constructed 108 temples in incipient stage, but the later generation could not maintain such huge number of monuments and most of them were left uncared for. With the passing of time as many as 36 monuments dilapidated and finally grounded. Only 72 out of the lot survive now.

On weekends and holidays, it gets crowded and is not scary at all. But if you want to experience the thrill, go there on a normal day, the eerie silence frightens people."

HolidayIQ Traveller Govindan Naganathan says, "A few kilometres from Gorur Dam on the way to Hassan at Shettihalli is Rosary Church built by French missionaries in 1860. The village of Shettihalli were relocated when Gorur dam was constructed and the church was submerged. The church is visible only when the water level in Hemavathy reservoir is low. We could see a few feet of church above water since the water level was low. The surrounding is very scenic and peaceful."

The broken houses, demolished railway lines, bridges and other relics are reminiscent of its glorious past. The town was completely destroyed in 1964 by a gigantic cyclone.
