It really depends on what sort of experiences you are looking for. North Goa is great if you want to be close to the "action" - shopping, nightlife, restaurants, etc. The South Goa beaches are more laid back and great if you want to mostly chill out.
There are other options as well, like heritage homes in villages, wildlife lodges in the deep interiors, and of course, five star resorts.
