The elevated rail based transportation system is a single rail based system, recently launched in Mumbai. The Mumbai Monorail is the India’s first monorail transport system and many more are in the pipleline for other major Indian cities. Odisha plans Monorail transit system for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar,Monorail System in Jaipur, Navi Mumbai Monorail, Indore Monorail,Aizawl Monorail,Coimbatore Monorail and  Pudur Ambatturare are few more proposed monorail system in the cities along with Metro rail projects.
